This is Arnsberg, as well
This church has a tower of the 12th century. Hüsten is already being mentioned in a document of the year 802 and later on occurs to be one of the twelve master parishes of Sauerland. In 1941 it formed, together with Neheim, the "double-town" Neheim-Hüsten, until the new town of Arnsberg was founded (1975).
The 1,100 years aged Hüsten fair sill acts as a reminder to this importance as a church place - a major event, which attracts thousands of visitors in September, every year.
Oeventrop, Vosswinkel, Herdringen and the other villages - these, as well, belong to the Town of Arnsberg. Rural idyll next to the busy city life - that makes Arnsberg live- and loveable.
In every one of these parts of the town, a part of the history has taken place, that has - every one for itself - affected the destiny of the whole town.
Ulrike and Karl-Heinz Elsner, Schützenkönigspaar ("Royal couple" of the shooter's association in Hüsten:
"Companionship and sociability are capitalized in Sauerland - and especially with us in Hüsten. A flourishing association life with many activities for citizens and guests, young and old - that is what you can be proud of. Especially as the "Royal Couple of the shooter's association."
